MY COLLEGE TOUR

Yes, the tour rocked our desires of fun all through. It was a lifetime experience to have a week long college tour of Madhya Pradesh. Indore was not a pleasure but Bhopal impressed us.  Ujjain was a precious visit to Mahakaaleshwar and Omkareshwar. Mandu gave a cooling relaxation to our eyes while Pachmarhi gave us our best experience ever.

Madhya Pradesh impressed us with its “poha” and wide roads. We witnessed heavy rains everyday everywhere except our last day of Pachmarhi (it gave me sunburns).  Indore offered us visits to Nai Duniya,  Patrika ( m.p. version of Rajisthan Patrika) and Devi Ahilya Vishvidhyalay’s Media Department. The evening visit to Rajwada of Devi Ahilyabai was a good choice.  We roamed around markets of Indore which were glittering in the Id festivities.

Mandu was a sight worth remembering. Though we witnessed floods on our way and back and were forced to get stuck in traffic jam for hours.  Rani Roopwati Mahal, Asharfi Mahal, Jami Masjid were the speakers of those old times. The area was abundant with huge ‘kheera’ and “shareefa”. The Jal Mahal was beautiful. The greenry, the flowers and the view of mandu from the height of Rani Roopwati Mahal was giving us ideas of settling there.

Ujjain ‘s Mhakaleshwar and Omkaareshwar gave us the satisfaction of a pilgrimage along with our tour. . We even got  a chance to have the bhandara. The Bada Ganesh  temple was also beautiful. Roaming barefoot  on roads was also a different  experience.

Bhopal was good as the weather was fine with its 8 lakes.  We visited New Market where all the girls went for henna application. Being ganesh chaturthi and id and hartalika teej on that day, the market had its own colours of all the three festivities. The “Badi Jheel” was beautiful and huge. We went for boating . I enjoyed it thoroughly as I love water bodies. Some were a bit afraid but overall we all enjoyed ourselves. We sat in the adjoining park for a while and chatted all along. After that we visited Gauhar Mahal , which was a traditional dilli haat type market in a palace. The sunset at the lakeside in the evening was awesome.  It made us forget all our tiredness.
From Bhopal we went to Peepariya by train and then by bus to Pachmarhi from where we took a open jipsy to wander around Pachmarhi. In Pachmarhi , first of all we visited the museum which displayd the jungles of m.p. then we went to the B-Falls (the waterfall).

We had to trek 400 meters deep to reach there . we played and bathed in it. The water falling from a height feels like knives on one’s body.  One could not  see nor hear under its high pressure. But the masti was worth valuing for our lives. However, the returning from the waterfall to the road was a very tiring task, with our already tired body after the bath, the upscale task was taking our breath away. We then climbed our jipsy and did ho –hulla all along the way to Pandu Cavees. There are five caves with faded paintings 1400 years  old. It has no relation with the pandavas anyway. We again took the same journey back to Bhopal where we managed to visit our main university campus for a while. And  finally we took the journey back home to Delhi.
The unlimited chats , 4hour long antakshri comprising even the gazals, bhajans and some very irritating songs too, the unlimited kissey and gappe in the hotel room, the food of  Gurukripa restaurant of indore,  the train, bus , jeep and jipsy journey, the poha, the sharing of toothpaste, the cooperation in managing with each other, the learning of a new language ,” maintera naantaam runtuchi haintey’ which means ‘mera naam ruchi hai’, the clicking of even the most stupid things, the cursing our hotel rooms and management, the hairstyling of each other by each other, the laughing unlimited holding our stomachs, the mehendi, the roaming and wandering:- every bit of it was a memorable and precious experience.  I would reap its value forever.
